Time flies and just few days to go

Hello everyone! (I'm going to add photos later today)

This time I might write this post only in English because writing Finnish is just too hard... I still know how to speak it and everything but my sentences just don't make any sense anymore so yeah :)

Last time when I wrote here it was the last day of term 1 and so much has happened after that. On those holidays I went to Brisbane to see my Finnish friend Daniela in Brisbane for a week :) I got to go surfing for the first time, we went to Whitewater World (water park on the Gold Coast), Daniela turned 18 so we went for dinner in Southbank and we also went to Gold Coast to the beach for one day :)


After that week I had another week of holidays and then I turned 18!! :) On the 12th of April (my actual birthday) I went to Dream World (amusement park) with Chloe, my host-borther Adam and one of his friends Luke. We had so much fun and I got to go to some just amazing rides. Normally I would have not probably gone to any of them but the people I was with kinda made me to go to almost everything... I don't have almost any pictures from that day as we were on the rides all the time. In the evening when we got back home we went for a dinner to an Asian restaurant with my whole host-family. I got my first legal drink and the food was sooooo goooood! My host family gave me a Pandora bracelet and I just love it! Then on the 13th I went to see the movie Warm Bodies with my closest friends and after that we went for a dinner. I got some beautiful presents and that night was just amazing. I will miss all my friends so much...


Then my last term here in St. Saviour's started and I had still 46 days to go. It didn't seem to be much but now that I have only 1 day left, 46 seems like forever... But during the term we had our cross country competition (so just a running race around the Queens park) but as I hate running with a passion, I just walked the race with Emily hehee... I also got to see an Australian university graduation as my host-sister's husband graduated. They had all the graduation robes and the caps and everything. The next day I went to Whitewater World again but this time I went there with Chloe and Emily. It was so much fun and even though this was the second time I was there, it felt like I was there for the first time once again. Everything was a little bit different with new people.

Then all the asignments started to build up and I didn't do so much anymore on my spare time. Every now and then I met up with some friends and even Cherine came to Toowoomba for a visit. For my drama assignment we went to see Animal Farm to the Empire theatre with my drama class and I can't even remember when was the last time I went to see a play..? Oh well, I enjoyed my time and the play was really good too :)

On the 15th of May I had a visa appointment in Brisbane (for changing my visa from a student's visa to a visitor's one for my family holiday) and I had been scared of that for so long... I just have a fear of interviews and security checks and all things like that... :D I had so much paperwork to do for it and I started to do all of that like a month before and my application forms and all the documents were ready on the 13th of May... But anyway, as my student visa was going to expire on the 31st of May, I needed to change my visa to a visitor's visa as I wanted to stay here down under until the 12th of June for the family holiday we have planned to have with my family. I got the visa so now everything is all sorted :)

And on Sunday the19th I went to Maryborough (Cherine lives there) until the 22nd (Wednesday). On sunday I just travelled basically the whole day and on tuesday I got to go to Cherine's school for one day. It was so different compared to my school but I really loved her school and the people I met there were amazing. On tuesday we went to FRASER ISLAND!! It was so beautiful! We saw so many dingoes in wild, we went flying over the island in a small airplane so that we saw the whole island from the air and we also saw sharks in the sea. The Island is only made of sand and it is the biggest sand Island on Earth.


On the 24th (so last friday) I had my final assembly at school and I had my farewell speech. I just couldn't believe that my year is coming to an end... I'll post that speech hopefully tomorrow.

Last weekend we went with my host mom, her friend and Adam to Seaworld and we stayed in the Seaworld Resort for the night. Next day we started the day with pancakes and then we went to Movie World for the day. It's also a theme park and all the rides are connected to the Warner Bros movies. It was so much fun again but then again.. I realised that it was my last weekend with my host-family... Next Saturday my own parents and little brother are arriving to Australia at 5:15am.

And then.... It's over. My exchange year. I just don't understand that soon I will be living my everyday life in Finland once again. And I have to admit, I am more scared than ever. What if my life will never be what it used to be?

 

Going to an exchange is the easy part.

Returning home is the hardest.

Last day of term 1

Lomat!! Eli tänään siis oli ensimmäisen jakson viimenen päivä kuten tossa aikasemmassa postauksessa taisin jo kertoa mutta siis.. Oltiin sovittu meiän kaveriporukan kanssa että tuodaan lounaaks kaikkia erilaisia herkkuja ja juttuja jaettavaks ja syötäväks. Ei ollu maailman terveellisin lounas mutta joo.. :) Oli just hauskaa ja kerrankin muistin myös kameran! Noissa kuvissa näkyy myös pikkasen et millanen toi meiän koulun alue oikeen on, mutta aattelin kyllä tehä koulupostauksen jossain vaiheessa ja sit on myös  tulossa muutamia kuvia siitä millanen tää Toowoomba on :)

Holidaaaayyysss!!!! So today it was the last day of term 1 and we decided to bring some stuff to eat and share for lunch :) Tim Tams, chocolate eggs, lollies, cupcakes and stuff like that :) Yeah it wasn't the healthiest lunch to have but oh well. It's almost easter and I have promised to cook for my host family somme finnish food and on saturday I'm going to Brisbane to Daniela's for six nights and I can't wait! The second week of the holidays I'm just going to spend a lot of time with my friends and I'll be turning 18 too! :) 

Yks asia mikä mua häiritsee täällä Ausseissa on se että kaikki aamuteet ja lounaat syödään maassa istuen. Eli pöytiä ei oikeestaan ole ja jos on, niin ne on yleensä varattu (kuuluu eri porukoille). Tai no siis meiän koulussa kaikilla kaveriporukoilla on se yks tietty paikka missä ne istuu jokasella ruokatauolla. Ja siis jos meet istumaan jonkun muun porukan paikalle.. No kukaan ei oikeestaan tee sitä koska se vaan on väärin.. Haha

Exams for Australia 2012-2013... DONE!

Hei kaikki! :)

Koulun koneelta kirjottelen talla kertaa :) Nyt on siis koeviikko takana ja mulla oli vaan matikan, draaman, physical educationin ja tanssin kokeet. Matikka meni tosi hyvin ja physical educationin koe meni myos ihan hyvin (siis mun mielesta mutta saa nyt naha mita tapahtuu...). Tanssissa ja draamassa oli taas esiintymiset mutta arvosanoja ei olla viela saatu takasin.

Ja siis nyt on kaikki kokeet tehty!! :) Mahan lahen siis ens termin puolivalissa nii en kerkee olla ens koeviikkoon saakka. Koulussa viela pitaa viela olla buuuuut I can take it really easy now :) hehee
Pari kurssityota on viela ens jaksossa mutta esim Physical Educationin kurssityon due date on mun lahdon jalkeen, nii paasen vaan pelaa jenkki futista ja sama myos tanssissa; ei koetta, ei kurssitoita! :)

Tanaan on myos viimen paiva koulua ja sitten paasee kahen viikon lomille. Perjantaina lupasin kokata mun koko host perheelle kalakeittoa ja leivon myos sampyloita sen seuraks. Lauantaina lahen taas Brisbaneen kuudeks yoks Danielan luokse eli paasiaisen vietan siella ja Daniela tayttaa myos 18 sunnuntaina! :) Loppu viikon suunitelmista en viela tiia mutta sitten lomien toisella viikolla itse taytan 18!! :) Perheen kanssa me vietetaan mun synttareita kait niin et mennaan jonnekkin ravintolaan lounaalle ja sitten illalla koko perhe tulee meille illalliselle. Ja mun kaverit on sanonu mulle etta oon niiden kanssa lauantaina (synttarit on oikeesti perjantaina) ja et ne on suunnitellu vievansa mut jonnekkin syomaan mutta en yhtaan tiia minne..? Saa sitten naha :) muuten lomilla vaan naan kavereita mahollisimman paljon koska paluu Suomeen lahestyy joka hetki..

A beautiful day with beautiful people

Hey everyone! (this time only in english)

A second, a minute, an hour, a day and then a week. Time.. It goes so fast and even though sometimes I wish that I could just stop the time and enjoy that one amazing moment a little bit longer, I know that it is impossible.  This week we have exam block, the next week the holidays begin, I'm going to Brisbane for a week on the holidays, I'll turn 18 and then school starts again... 2 months and 2 weeks left anymore.. :s What to say...

But back to the moment! :) Today I went to Chloe's with Emily and I can't even put it into words how much fun I had!! :) The day was perfect: full sunshine, +28°C and THE POOL! <3 So Chloe has a pool and we just basically were in the pool for the whole day.. :') It was so much fun and finally I might know how I want to celebrate my 18th with my friends (less than a month to go!!). And as pictures tell more than a thousand words.. Here's the best pictures from the day :)

This is definitely something that I will miss heaps..

Stories from the last moth

Heippa kaikki! :) Eli pitkästä päätin tännekkin kirjotella vaikka kokeet lähestyy ja kurssitöiden palautuspäivät olisi jo maanantaina, mutta kyllä tää tästä! Aika menee ihan järkyttävän nopeesti ja muistelen tässä sitä kuinka just hetki sitten puhuin mun host-äidin kanssa että on vielä tasan 6kk jäljellä mutta nyt on enää alle 12vk mikä on siis reilu 2kk.. :o Aika tuntuu kokoaika menevän vaan nopeemmin ja nopeemmin ja tuntuu että mun ystävät täällä on mulle niin läheisiä että on ihan kauheeta ees ajatella sitä että joutuis sanomaan näkemiin kaikille rakkaille... Vuos alko aika kivisesti mutta nyt mun elämä on täällä aivan mahtavaa ja rakastan herätä joka aamu koulua varten :) Rakastan mun ystäviä enemmän kuin elämää ja yritän nauttia jokaisesta sekunnista joka mulla täällä Australiassa vielä on.

Mutta toisaalta.... Koti. Suomessa se on. Mun ihania ystäviä on niin kamala ikävä ja jotenkin tuntuu siltä että osa mun kavereista Suomessa on tullu mulle entistä läheisemmiks mitä ne oli ennen kuin tulin tänne Ausseihin. Rakkaat, kohta tavataan taas! :)

22.2.2013 Social with St. Mary's College at SSC

Eli siis mun koulu St. Saviour'shan on tyttökoulu nii aina sillon tällön meiän koulu järjestää tälläsiä Socialeita eri koulujen kanssa. Ne on vaan sellasen pienet kekkerit koululla ja opettajien valvonnassa. Tarkotus on siis tutustua uusiin ihmisiin (etenkin jätkiin..) ja tanssia ja pitää hauskaa ja näin. Ei ihmeitä.

Tää social oli kyllä aivan mahtava ja tutustuin siellä just muutamiin uusiin ihmisiin :) Ennen tota Socialia menin mun kaverin Emilyn luokse valmistautumaan eli koulupuku laukkuun ja hienommat vaatteet päälle ja sitten lähtö takasin koululle. Emily you mean the world to me!!! xo

1.-3.3.2013 Gold Coast with Chloe & Dracula's Cabaret Restaurant

Eli torstai iltana mun kaveri Chloe laitto mulle viestiä fb:ssä että jos haluaisin mennä sen mukaan Gold Coastille la-su yöks ja siellä mentäis siis tollaseen Dracula's ravintolaan. Ja siis mun ei tarvinnu maksaa mistään mitään niin tottakai mä suostuin! :) Menin perjantai yöks Chloelle ja lauantai aamulla sitten lähettiin sinne rannikolle mikä on parin tunnin ajomatkan päässä Toowoombasta.

Perjantain ilta oli kyllä aivan mahtava ja lauantain iltaa ei mikään voi oikeesti voittaa! Toi Dracula's on siis sellanen vampyyri teemanen ravintola ja kaikki ne tarjoilijat on siis pukeutunu vampyyreiks ja samalla ne myös käyttäytyy tavallaan vampyyrimäisesti. Sisään mennessä siellä on sellanen "spooky ride" ja sitten vasta pääsee sinne ravintolan puolelle. Mutta siis samalla ku siellä syödään nii siinä on samalla myös sellanen show missä just kaikki näyttelijät on vampyyreitä ja siis ihan mahtavaa musiikkia ja komiikkaa ja emmä tiä. Vaikee selittää ku se pitää ite kokea! :) Pukukoodi oli myös tosi hieno eli sai kerrankin pukeutua oikeen hienosti! Ja sunnuntaina suunnatiin takasin Toowoombaan heti rannikko shoppailun jälkeen  :)

7.3.2013 SWIMMING CARNIVAL!

AIVAN HUIPPU PÄIVÄ! Eli täällä Australiassa näillä kouluilla on aina tapana pitää swimming carnival jossa siis kaikki koulun talot (Goretti, Coolock, Xavier & McAuley meiän koulussa) yrittää kerätä eniten pisteitä osallistumalla eri kisoihin ja voittamalla joitakin kisoja. Koska ite oon uinu ihan pienestä saakka päätin että vois sitä noihin kisoihin osallistuakkin. Kisat joihin osallistuin oli 100m rintauinti, 50m rintauinti, 50 vapaauinti, 50m selkäuinti, 100m selkäuinti ja 200m viesti eli jokanen ui 50m :) Tulin kolmanneks 50m rintauinnissa, tokaks 50m selkäuinnissa ja tokaks myös 100m selkäuinnissa. Ja koska siis sijoituim useammassa kisasassa, tulin myös meiän ikäluokan (17+) kolmanneks age championiks! :) Jeejee!

Kisat oli enemmänki vaan huvin vuoks ja meiän talon Gorettin ryhmähenki oli aivan mahtava!! Se kannustuksen määrä ja ne kannustus huudot on niin huippuja! Täs on pari:

Ja muitakin siis on!

Goretti sitten loppujen lopuks voitti Swimming Carnivalin ja meiän talo sai siis sellasen hienon pokaalinki :) Ja ainiin! Kaikilla taloilla oli oma teema ja teemojen pitäis yleensä aina alkaa samalla kirjaimella ku sun talon nimi. Meillä oli Goretti - Gods and Goddeses :) Punaset toogat koska meiän talon väri on punanen :) Tätä Swimming Carnivalia edeltävänä yönä menin Emilyn luokse yöks että saatiin noi meiän toogat kuntoon ja muutenkin valmistuduttiin yhessä tota carnivalia varten :)
